সাথে নিয়ে তোমার নিঃশ্বাস...

জীবাণুরা যাবার আগেই
তোমার বিদায়...
তারপর জীবের মতই জীবাণুও... দেহ বদল চায়
জানালার ফাঁক দিয়ে চলে আসে ঠাণ্ডা-মতন হাওয়া
শীতের আগমনী – আছিলায়।
আমার শীত আমায় আঁকড়ে ধরে আছে...
আর শীতের ফাঁকে তোমার নিঃশ্বাস !
Then you came
উত্তরমুছুনin the dreamy warmth of ailment
and with your breath
you brought in more warmth;
And then you left
before the germs had chosen
to leave my body
to find some other (wo)men;
And then there came
the cool breeze through the window pane
of the winter fall, Oh ! so serene
embracing me like so dear a sheath
and within all there stays your breath !
